Tasked with creating a series of custom screens for a contemporary villa, Alico Industries Company Limited delivered a stunning result that combines function, form, and futuristic design.
A Bold Architectural Feature
The screens, fabricated entirely from premium-grade aluminium serve as both a shading solution and an aesthetic feature for the villa. These installations are far more than simple cladding or decorative grills—they are sculptural elements that lend depth and dynamism to the villa’s exterior.
Designed with a rhythm of vertically-oriented black fins intersected by protruding bronze-toned rectangular volumes, the screens create an engaging play of light and shadow throughout the day. The geometric grid appears to shift and evolve as sunlight interacts with the structure, offering a constantly changing façade that complements the villa’s modern minimalist architecture.
Material Innovation and Durability
Aluminium was the material of choice for its strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and excellent adaptability to custom fabrication. Each component of the screen was carefully engineered and finished to ensure longevity in Dubai’s hot climate, were temperature extremes and UV exposure demand durable, high-quality materials.
