The Independence Monument: A New Symbol of Sharjah’s Heritage, Delivered by Alico Industries

Alico Industries Company Limited is proud to have contributed to the newly inaugurated Independence Monument at Midan Al-Istiqlal, officially opened on 2 December by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah.

Standing 34 meters tall and crowned with a seven-pointed star symbolizing the unity of the UAE, the monument marks an important national milestone and celebrates the country’s historical journey.

Alico Industries Company Limited’s Contribution to the Monument

Alico Industries supplied and installed several signature components that define the monument’s visual character and surrounding landscape, including:

• The seven-pointed golden star positioned at the top of the monument
• Gold decorative motifs running along the height of the structure
• Custom-designed perimeter fencing framing the square
• Steel bollards along pedestrian walkways and fountain edges
• Light posts enhancing the site’s illumination and overall visual harmony

These elements were engineered and fabricated to meet the project’s durability and aesthetic requirements, ensuring a refined and cohesive appearance throughout the site.
