Alico Industries' Contribution to Al Layyah Canal Project​

H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the Al Layyah Canal project on Thursday, February 27. This major development, designed to connect the open sea to the creek and Khalid Lake, is set to improve water quality and flow of the lake.

During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan toured the canal and its surroundings, observing the newly installed lamp posts along the walkways and waterfront acknowledging the aesthetics of the lightings, highlighting its role in enhancing the visual appeal of the waterfront and creating a harmonious ambiance.

Alico Industries Co. Ltd. played a significant role in Al Layyah Canal project by supplying more than 3000 meter railing for both the canal and causeway, 230 high-quality cast aluminium lighting bollards, 290 lamp posts of different sizes and designs, in addition to the benches and signages in the area.

These elements were designed to enhance both the safety and aesthetics of the canal. The durable lighting solutions provide reliable illumination along the walkways and waterfront. Additionally, Alico’s robust railings secure pedestrian pathways while complementing the canal’s modern design. With a focus on innovation and resilience, Alico’s contributions have helped transform the canal into a vibrant and inviting destination for residents and visitors alike.
